What is Asbestos ?
This is minerals which made up of durable and fine fibers, that is resistant to fire, heat, and many chemicals. It is once called as miracle minerals, because of its ability that can stand for various events, like fire. There are six types of this mineral and each of it has its own characteristics. All of them are tasteless and odorless, and when it is used in a product or material, you cannot detect it visually. Laboratory testing must be conducted to know whether or not there is asbestos inside.
Yet, today, people find out that the continuously exposure of asbestos can lead to lung problems. Let us say, mesothelioma, lung cancer, lung-related illness, pleural problems, and also asbestosis. This material is still popular, but some countries already give their restriction to this mineral. Secondary exposure is those who even are not around the mineral or working with the material directly. It can be said as indirect exposure, and as dangerous as direct exposure. If you have husband who work in this industry, be careful for indirect exposure, since the clothing of the workers who handle this mineral provide the same risks, like you handle the material on first hand.
The microscopic particles can easily attach to clothing, so that everybody who wash and handle this will get same chance for having asbestos disease. If the workers do not change their cloth before going home, when they go home, the contaminations can affect to chairs, rugs, sofa, and other furniture. You kids, or pets then will experience the risks of asbestos exposure.
